It had become the practice of the priest to
burn inscense in the Great Meeting Hall of Mithar early in the morning
hours. Just before day break the priest
would open its great door and ceremoniously chant songs about the Great
Departure. Lamenting prayer began the
morning call to prayer for the city. At
the first call the people would stand where ever they were found walking, or
called to rise from their slumber if in bed; and face the twin peaks of the Bay
of Luhun.
“Beyond the Sun and Moon peaks
far from the
rim of the world
our departed
kin are forever
remembered lost
from us.
Hope we do ring out our bell
and beacon
light shone forth
the way back
to us may they
someday welcomingly
return.”
