A child fell into a well. It was on a high holy day of no work as all
the villagers stood around looking down the well. They cried and welled at being able not to do
anything. If this had happened on any other day, they exclaimed.
A woman, named Aerie drew close to the
well. Pushing her way through the crowds
she looked into it. At the bottom of the
near empty cavern the child called out for help for the last time and then
expired. The mother moaned all the more at
the pitiful act as the father poured dirt over his crying face.
Aerie came to the parents of the child and
said, “Shana says she only wanted to retrieve the last bit of water from this
near empty well her sick brother, Nonah back home. In falling in she was left all alone by the
people she knew and loved the most.”
The father cried out, “It is a holy day of no
work and we are forbidden even in this to do!”
The mother asked through tears, “How do you
know this and their names?”
Aerie answered, “God knows. Rejoice for both shall be saved this day if
only you give faith that it be so.” The
mother nodded, and then continued crying.
Waving her hand in the direction of the near empty well, Aerie said, “God
is the water of Life,” With that she walked away and headed to Mithar and
Lindol.
In that very moment the astonished people of
Sinjar pulled away from the well as a crowd, for it overflowed with an
abundance of fresh water. Rushing out of
the well came also the body of the six year old little girl, Shana. Both mother and father embraced their living
daughter, praising God above for the miracle done at the word of Aerie.
