I don't remember falling asleep
but waking up was a startling
nightmare as the car hydroplaned
through the last exit for my ramp.

Twenty-three hours at work
was an exercise of character
No lunch or break just rain
and the thundering of co-workers
clambering on the lack of appreciation.
